When 'spring' was a thing in London...

Topshop bomber | (X)SML shirt | Zara neck tie
Topshop trousers | Adidas Tubular | Miu Miu sunglasses

I don't even know why but I seem to always want to write about the weather when I write these blog posts... Probably because in London, you really have to dress for the incredibly unpredictable weather. This time round, it was getting a bit hotter so I could easily get away with wearing a bomber jacket. But after a few weeks, it actually got even colder... Can someone please explain the London weather and how it works to me :""""

Ok enough about the weather. I found this awesome pinky rusty coloured bomber jacket in Topshop (which pretty much everybody owns now) and was so excited. I decided to pair it with a simple black and white polka dot shirt to make the rusty metallic colour stand out, and I also added a neck tie for some more interest to the outfit. I think it creates a chic element to the otherwise quite 'cool', streetstyle outfit.

museumwear

Zara coat | &Other Stories jumper
Topshop trousers | Marni shoes

I have to admit... This one is a bit of an old outfit. By old, I mean... Two weeks old. Last week, my best friend, Hanie, came to visit me for a week. Hence why I did not post anything. Just when I had a great outfit, it was raining. Helloooo spring.

Phil and I (Phil again? What's new right) went to Tate Modern because sometimes we just feel like being cultured and artsy, ya know? Of course I wanted to dress for the occasion and came up with this pyjama-like concoction of an outfit. I wanted to dress down the otherwise formal-ish outfit with a jumper, and thought a matching colour would be more interesting. To be honest I want to wear this jumper forever because it's so comfy!

Just to give you a head's up - April might be the busiest month in the history of my bachelor's degree. I have only one month left to literally conduct my non-existent focus group and finish my dissertation, and a dozen other assignments, while also applying for postgraduate degrees. So I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to post outfit pictures I took last year when my mum and I went to travel England a bit.

Pastels for Spring? Revolutionary.

Whistles top | Topshop dungarees | &Other Stories boots

Behold! The new haircut! It is definitely too short, like I really need longer bits in front to sort of frame my face. But I guess when it gets closer to the shoulders, this blunt cut will look good.

River Island coat

Oh, don't mind me. Just telling the camera slave what to do. Lol
(That's what he calls himself, ok!)

Spring? What spring?

Topshop coat | &Other Stories culottes | &Other Stories boots

As I upload these pictures for this post, I've just realised how accurate this outfit is as a representation of the weather in London these past few days - a little bit of spring, a little bit of flowers blooming, but still overall really dark and cold. I mean, we all get a bit too excited when we see the sun, don't we? In reality, it's still cold as hell.

Now... I have to admit. I am in a bit of a style rut. I am basically bored of all the clothes I have in my wardrobe. I only wear a handful of things, and trust me when I say I have an absolute shitload of clothes. The top that I'm wearing here is an old one, and this is my attempt in trying to make use of my wardrobe and not just wear the same polo neck jumper every single day. Can't help it though. It's really freaking cold in London! And since I come from a tropical country, my clothes are mostly really thin.

My hair is also getting quite long. Which is why on that day, I was actually going to Blue Tit in Dalston to chop it even shorter! I am still not too sure how I feel about the cut. I mean, I think it's actually exactly what I wanted, but I'm questioning whether the length/style is suitable for me. It might be a little too short to suit me. Sorry for being a little tease and not actually posting a picture of it here. I guess you'll have to stay tuned til next week's post to see it!

P.S. I hope you will excuse my photographer's skill in ...photography. Lol. He's working on it ;)

Unwinter-like Winter

&Other Stories jacket | Zara jumper | American Apparel disco pants |
Converse shoes | Urban Outfitters bag

Yes, I did cut my hair short! I finally took the plunge and decided to go to Hershesons and just get a(n unbelievably expensive) haircut (I am from Indonesia so haircuts in the UK seem freaking costly to me). Leaving the salon, I was very happy with my hair, but after a few days I just wasn’t sure about how it looks when I style it myself. I did try and curl it earlier today and I love the way it looks! Though the front bits are a bit too long.

GOING BACK TO THE ACTUAL OUTFIT POST…

I wore my favourite &Other Stories bomber jacket which I am so very glad I got in the sales a few months ago. It’s honestly sooo warm. When everyone else is freezing their arses off, I was perfectly fine in that jacket. Definitely get your hands on it!
I like to mix textures to create different ‘vibes’ with my outfits. By pairing it with a knitted jumper, I think it just tones down the disco-ness of it and makes it look more laid-back. Also wore my cool new Converse that my boyfriend got me for Christmas to add a bit of colour to my otherwise black outfit.

Spring has sprung!

The weather is FINALLY getting friendly with Britain! It’s not just the sun that we still meet sometimes in the odd winter’s day, this time the weather is getting much hotter, although still with the occasional breeze. The flowers have bloomed, the leaves are starting to grow on trees, everyone’s mood just seems so much brighter! Spring is definitely my favourite season. We can finally wear less layers!! Oh, and how can I forget the sunglasses? :p

Before you make assumptions - yes, those are trousers, not a skirt :-)

Another day in the park.

Zara coat | Uniqlo jumper | (X)SML Necklace
H&M necklace | ASOS jeans | Topshop boots
I like spending my time in parks. I find it really relaxing, especially when the park has a beautiful view. My favourite park so far is still Primrose Hill (can you consider this as a park?) but this time I went to Greenwich Park with Tara. It was very grey and gloomy, though. Did not expect it to be THIS grey. But what can you do? That’s British weather for you!
Writing about this post, I just realised something – I don’t dress according to the season. First of all, this was taken when it was still quite cold, hence the jumper and the coat. When you look at this picture, you would probably think this was taken in November because it’s a very autumnal look, this one. Even though it’s supposed to be a transition time to spring. But that’s just me – I don’t really mind about dressing according to the season. I mean obviously I would wear less clothes in summer and more in winter. What I meant is that I don’t care about colours and all that. People seem to think that when it’s spring, you’re supposed to wear brighter colours or pastel colours, and there’s no more of that burgundy and khaki colours anywhere on your body. Aaaaanyway… I’m not trying to be snobby, I just realised something that’s all! Haha. We all have our own views on everything :)
From now on I will try to actually link the things I am wearing as well. As long as they’re still available online.

Hello there! I just graduated and I am honestly really bored. Might do this regularly, or I might not. Who knows. Can I just say that I really hate that when I wear my best clothes, I never took a proper picture of myself in my whole outfit. So all the pictures in my Lookbook suck. Just look at this one, you can see my friend's hand hanging on my shoulder! Hahaha.
